Following our 2019 manifesto commitment of 20,000 more police officers by 2024, the Conservative government has delivered 15,343 more officers so far. The East London unit now has 350 more officers, meaning a hands on approach to be tough on crime.
Local MP for Hornchurch and Upminster, Julia Lopez, has welcomed the news. Another manifesto commitment has been reached and early!
Deputy Chairman and Upminster ward activist, Adam Baker has also welcomed the news stating: "Residents are getting their fair share of policing and this is another step to reducing crime across Upminster. Youth Crime may be increasing throughout London with Sadiq Khan at the helm, but with more police officers as a result of the Conservative government, it is one of many measures needed to keep residents safe."
