Following Sadiq Khan's plans to sell off Hornchurch Police Station, your local Conservatives are campaigning to save the station.
We have an opportunity to save it, because the new Metropolitan Police commissioner is undertaking a review of neighbourhood policing. Hornchurch & Upminster Conservatives are therefore organising a petition as part of the MP's submission to show how much local demand there is.
"Hornchurch police station is vital in responding to crime. Police should be stationed closer to crime scenes and Hornchurch police station acts as a local base to effectively deal with crime." says Association Chairman, Dominic Swan. "Signing our petition is the best way for residents to demonstrate to Khan and Mark Rowley that we need a police station in our area" he added.
Saving Hornchurch Police Station will:
- Ensure the 350 extra police officers, funded by the government's manifesto promise, have a local base.
- Enable more effective police patrols as officers won't have to travel from stations miles away.
- Deter rising crime in our area.
The campaign is backed by Julia Lopez MP and Keith Prince AM (your Conservative London Assembly Member). The more people who sign the petition, the greater our chance to save our station.
