Dame Angela Watkinson congratulates C2C for clearing the derelict area in Station Approach and providing a new secure compound for passengers to leave their cycles while making their train journey. the new compound is locked, lit, protected from the weather and can accommodate 68 cycles. Commuters who cycle to the station can now store their cycles secure from theives and free of charge. A personal key fob is available to users for a £25 returnable deposit.

Next to the cycle compound is a new safer parking area for motor bikes and scooters, away from moving cars. Double yellow lines will be introduced to prevent parking in Station Approach to ease the movement of buses and cars using the car park.Tthis will improve pedestrian safety.
