At a recent Council meeting the Council outlined plans for its budget and from today until December 17 2015 residents will be able to make their views on the proposals known. The Council has already saved £40 million in the 4 years to 2014 but a further £57 million has to be saved by 2019. So far, savings of £30 million have been approved but the present plans cover proposals to save a further £24 million. Obviously, every round of cuts is more difficult to make so it is vital that the changes have the support of residents. The easiest way to be involved is to visit www.havering.gov.uk/haveyoursay. Although formal consultation ends in December, final decisions will only be taken by a meeting of the full Council on February 24 2016.
