Havering's libraries, which were closed on the 23rd March as part of the national lockdown, will begin to reopen from Friday 17th July.
Five libraries will open at first, with Harold Hill, Upminster, Hornchurch, Rainham and Central Library opening on the 17th July. The remaining five libraries in the borough will open on Wednesday 22nd July. All libraries will operate a full 'browse and borrow' service.
Libraries will have revised opening hours as some library staff will not be able to return to work due to health conditions or caring responsibilities.
To support the NHS Test and Trace system, library users will be asked for their contact details and will need to keep 2 metres apart where possible for social distancing. A one-way system will be in place, along with hand sanitisers in every library.
