With widespread opposition to ULEZ in Havering, local Conservative campaigners organised a protest on March 1st outside the town hall. It coincided with the full council meeting in which the Residents Association Political Party and Labour Council proposed their budget.
Over 200 local residents protested against ULEZ expansion, which would see a £12.50 daily charge for thousands of vehicles. Even if ULEZ did not affect them now, many protested to stop ULEZ before it gets them in the future. This is because with over £200,000,000 cost for ULEZ cameras and signage, Sadiq Khan will need more cars to pay. It is only a matter of time before ULEZ damages local business in our area. You will be charged to visit loved ones, go to work and to support small businesses. Already, Road User Charging is being considered. This charges vehicles regardless of make and model, for every mile they drive.
