Cllr Keith Prince AM, GLA Assembly Member for Havering and Redbridge, hosted a local crime meeting in Emerson Park following reports of rising crime. Despite 350 more police officers in our unit because of our Conservative government, residents shared their concerns about crime in their area. Keith Prince was happy to chair the meeting in which over 200 residents met at Nelmes Church.
Also invited was Inspector Zed Ashgar and his team, who was happy to reassure residents that Emerson Park has the 3rd lowest crime rates in London. Nevertheless, the concerns were noted and a joint effort between residents, police and policy makers is needed to stop the rising levels of crime. The leader of the council and Emerson Park councillors also attended.
