Havering has the worst transport links in London, with a lack of bus and rail services in our area. However, Sadiq Khan is planning to cut the frequent bus services in Upminster and Cranham.
The 346 and 347 which serves Upminster to Cranham and Upminster to Ockendon, is proposed to be cut. Instead, the plan is to combine the route into the 497 route. This would cut services to 2 buses per hour. Services to Ockendon will be cut entirely. Whilst there will be better connections to Harold Wood, the connections to outside London will suffer.

Your local Conservatives believe that there should be:
- Direct bus routes to and from Upminster and Cranham to Harold Wood
- Frequent bus services of at least 4 buses per hour
- Direct bus routes to and from Harold Wood to Ockendon
- Direct bus routes to and from Upminster and Cranham to Ockendon
The 497 route should go further. It should go to Ockenden, following the 347 route. Also, this service should have 4 buses per hour. This will improve public transport in our area, connecting residents to local business.
It coincides with ULEZ expansion to our area. This means that there will be less alternatives for residents. If residents lose their car because of the £12.50 charge, they will have worse transport links to make up for it. This also means that non-compliant vehicles will not be able to park outside London, in Ockenden, and then travel in on buses to support our high street.
"ULEZ will already harm residents and local business in our area, now with cuts to public transport, Sadiq Khan continues to let residents down." says Upminster Conservative Ward Volunteer Ed Green.
