Local football team Hornchurch FC narrowly missed out on promotion this season. The 7th Tier Team won the FA Trophy (the non-league equivalent of the FA Cup) the previous season as the team pushed hard for automatic promotion. They missed out coming 4th but were able to reach the play off final. They lost to Cheshunt 2-1 but they should hold their head high.

Despite the team missing out on promotion, the team should be proud. They had an unbelievable run of form going unbeaten for 16 successive games. Their biggest victory of the season came against Thurrock -smashing them 6-0 at home.
