Tesco Store on Butts Green Road, Emerson Park

After numerous warnings from Havering Council in regard to the Tesco store in Butts Green Road putting cones outside of their store to reserve the parking bay exclusively for their delivery lorries, Councillor Bob Perry today (11th December 2018) took action and confiscated the traffic cones on behalf of the council. Putting the cones out without Local Authourity consent is deemed an “obstruction of the Highway."

Cllr Perry has further asked the Council to prosecute Tesco for contravention of the Highways Act and will work with Council officers to prevent any further contravention, which deprives other local businesses customers from using the parking bays resulting in a loss of custom to those businesses.
