Dame Angela joined the Deputy Mayor, Deputy Lord Lieutenant and the District Guide Commissioner at St George’s Church to present awards to high achieving Hornchurch Guides.

The evening began with cups of tea and mince pies and carol singing. Several new guides made their promise and an impressive range of awards were presented from Baden Powell, Jack Petchey and Duke of Edinburgh to Guide Leader Awards.

Dame Angela said; “So much is said about young people which is negative, I know through my association with local Guides and other young people, what a fantastic role they play in the local community. It was an honour to be part of the awards ceremony. Well done to all.”
