A few months ago, Syed Kamall, one of our London MEPs, started some research on the topic of a blanket 20mph speed limit throughout suburban roads in London because moves seem to be afoot to introduce such a ban. He kept hearing very mixed views. Many people are in favour of them for safety reasons but many people are also against a one size fits all solution. Consequently he decided to survey as many people as possible on the topic.

We all want safer roads but while Syed personally has concerns over imposing a blanket 20mph zone on all surburban roads, given safety concerns are they a necessity?
