Following a proposal to close the toilets in Upminster Park by the Residents Association Political Party, thankfully the RA u-turned on their own cuts following public pressure.
Speaking on the issue Adam Baker said, "The planned cuts were absurd. The Residents Association proposed to close the toilets good, but after clear disapproval by residents they rightfully changed their mind. The toilets are vital for the high street and the park, enabling families to have dignity when doing their private business. I am delighted that our campaign pressured the councillors into making the right decision, but it is a shame it took so long for the toilets to re-open. As a resident in Upminster and frequent user of the park, I believe Upminster deserves, at the very least, basic services to be fulfilled."
A campaign was launched by the Upminster Conservative Action team to save the toilets and re-open them. Back in February. Adam Baker, Conservative Ward Volunteer in Upminster, wrote in the Havering Daily. You can find the campaign here:

But the toilets did not open straight away. Instead residents had to wait over 3 months for the toilets to open. This meant that the toilets were closed during the school holidays and bank holidays. Now the toilets are open, residents can enjoy the park and our high street.
