A proposed school street scheme by Gaynes School is under consultation. But with no evidence of air quality improving, no accidents involving children recently and traffic diverted onto Corbets Tey Road, residents do not support the scheme.
Upminster Ward Volunteer, Adam Baker, has written to residents asking them to oppose the scheme via the consultation and to sign our petition to stop the scheme. He has also met with several residents and has listened to their concerns. The Upminster Ward Conservative Team have also reached out to the Resident Association Political Party councillors in Upminster asking for cross party support, however they have declined to join the fight.

Speaking on the issue, Adam Baker said "It is deeply disappointing that the Residents Association Political Party refuse to work together with us to stop the scheme. This scheme has no cost published, no time frame published and no independent assessment report localised to the proposed streets. This scheme should be opposed and residents should have their say."
